I was working on it a home and asked my son to try it out. He immediately hit random keys on the keyboard, which caused the program to freeze. I had totally forgotten to allow for invalid keyboard input. His simple actions inspired me to think what someone might do not just what the should do. There was no fixed time when they let the water out. So I got inspired to build a simple system to sound an alarm whenever there was water in the pipes.
