		<description>Not really.  Most of these projects are simply government welfare for scientists.  I can&#039;t immediately think of anything practical that came out of most of this sort of research.  Sure, we expanded the breadth of knowledge, but is that the job of government?  I think not.  I learned this week that three physicists received a Nobel Prize for the discovery that the acceleration of the universe increases.  Wonderful.  And that improves my life how?</description>
