The eight new processors in the 45nm single-core E6xxx product line were launch in third quarter of this year. Their target applications are IP phones, printers, and in-vehicle-infotainment systems for automobiles. The processors can connect to developer's custom-built silicon as long as it is PCI Express compliant. Clock rate options range from 600 MHz to 1.6GHz with 512-kbytes of L2 cache. All of the processors integrate hyper-threading, virtualization, and speedstep technology. Intel Virtualization Technology allows one hardware platform to function as multiple "virtual" platforms and provides greater isolation and security between different applications and operating systems for added protection. Intel 64 Architecture supports 64-bit instructions, providing flexibility for 64-bit and 32-bit applications and operating systems.
