Stretch

Stretch is a fabless semiconductor company that provides software configurable processors and software development tools for compute-intensive applications. Design engineers can configure Stretch's off-the-shelf processors to achieve higher performance by using standard C/C++ programming methods and Stretch software development tools. The company's solutions target applications for the video and wireless markets.

Stretch S6000 family software configurable processors are powered by the Stretch S6 SCP Engine and incorporate the Tensilica Xtensa LX VLIW processor core, a second generation Instruction Set Extension Fabric (ISEF), and a tightly coupled programmable accelerator. Stretch has also developed a series of PCIe digital video recorder (DVR) add-in cards that are available as OEM units or as fully featured reference design kits, along with reference designs for standalone DVRs and both high definition and D1 resolution internet protocol (IP) cameras.

Stretch's development environment includes software development tools and a full range of support, including training courses and Partner Programs. Stretch processors target security and surveillance, broadcast video, wireless communications (WiMAX), and industrial imaging applications.
